Arc flash protection

The CLiP operates quickly and accurately upon detecting the presence of an arc flash. Once the arc flash is detected, the CLiP effectively limits the current in less than one electrical cycle. By limiting the current, the CLiP reduces the energy released during the arc flash, thus minimizing damage and associated risks.
The CLiP’s current-limiting capability is achieved through the use of controlled fusing devices and their specialized design. These devices act as high-speed switches that respond quickly to the presence of an arc flash, thereby limiting the current and protecting both electrical equipment and nearby personnel.
